York police reported that three suspects were arrested following a commercial break-in in Vaughan early Saturday morning.

At approximately 2 a. m., officers received a call about a break-in at a commercial property near Kipling and Highway 7 in Vaughan, according to Duty Insp. Peter Cheung. Upon their arrival, officers noticed one suspect trying to leave the area in a stolen vehicle.

“The suspect tried to break containment, but eventually four police cars successfully contained the vehicle,” Cheung told CBC Toronto at the scene. At least two police cars are “no longer operational,” he added.

Another suspect attempted to escape on foot, leading to a brief chase, Cheung explained. All three suspects were apprehended, and authorities also discovered a loaded firearm.

One of the suspects was taken to the hospital but did not suffer serious injuries, Cheung mentioned.
