VAUGHAN – Ontario Provincial Police report that two men have died following a vehicle accident involving a car and a tractor trailer on a highway in Vaughan early Sunday morning.

Authorities say they received a call about the crash in the northbound lane of Highway 400, just south of Teston Road, at 3:45 a. m.

Investigators reveal that the ride-share vehicle struck the end of a guardrail while exiting the highway, leading to the collision with the tractor trailer.

Two 30-year-old men from Bradford West Gwillimbury who were passengers in the ride-share were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, while the tractor trailer driver reported no injuries.

Police indicated that northbound lanes of Highway 400 were closed for several hours but have since reopened. The investigation is ongoing.

This report by The Canadian Press was first Dec. 7, 2025.
