WASHINGTON – The 250th anniversary of American independence is happening alongside a country facing deep political divides and a heat wave affecting millions across several states as festivities began Saturday throughout the United States.
The signing of the Declaration of Independence, which is one of the most famous declarations of democratic ideals, is being celebrated in various ways.
