A 26-year-old man from Columbus, Ohio, named Alex Justin Miller has been charged with sending a threat across state lines. The Department of Justice states that on August 18, the same day as Representative Randy Fine’s primary election, Miller allegedly sent an email threatening to kill Fine and his family.

In this email, Miller reportedly wrote, “I cannot wait to take a trip to your lovely home and light the whole place on fire and murder you and your entire family in the middle of the night while you sleep.”

The message also labeled Fine as a “Nazi” and warned him to “sleep with one eye open,” claiming that Miller would “never stop until [his] head is hanging from the rooftops of the White House.”

“DEATH TO RANDY FINE AND DEATH TO DONALD TRUMP!!!,” concluded the email.

If found guilty, Miller could face up to five years behind bars.

The criminal complaint revealed that at the time of the threat, Fine and his family were in Florida.

Fine took to X/Twitter on Tuesday to thank the US Attorney’s Office for Middle Florida, as well as local law enforcement and Capitol Police.

He stated, “If they think this will make me afraid, they are wrong.”

“There is no place in our political system for this. And those who make these threats, whether to a Republican or Democrat, will go to prison for a very long time.”

Fine mentioned that three others had previously faced prosecution for making death threats against him.

Currently serving his first term in Congress, Fine received endorsements from both US President Donald Trump and AIPAC (the American Israel Public Affairs Committee).

During Bilzerian’s primary campaign, he made antisemitic remarks referencing Adolf Hitler along with what he termed as the district’s “Jewish problem.”

Bilzerian garnered only 18% of the vote when Associated Press declared results.
