EDMONTON – Matias Maccelli found the back of the net twice, leading the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday.
Matthew Knies added a goal and an assist for Toronto (27-21-9), while John Tavares netted his 20th of the season and Bobby Mc Mann scored an empty-net goal.
Anthony Stolarz made 34 saves on 36 shots in net for the Leafs, including a spectacular diving stop against Leon Draisaitl that kept Edmonton from closing the gap late in the third period.
The Oilers (28-20-9) saw goals from Jake Walman and Kasperi Kapanen, with Connor Ingram making 22 stops in goal.
Toronto entered this game after defeating the Flames 4-2 in Calgary on Monday and is riding a three-game winning streak into the Olympic break.
Edmonton has now lost two consecutive games and has one more matchup scheduled before the NHL takes a break for the Milan Cortina Games.
