A stabbing that occurred overnight at a home in Tillsonburg left one person with serious injuries, which police report are not life-threatening.

Oxford County OPP and emergency medical services were alerted to a weapons-related incident shortly before 3:30 a. m. on Tuesday, June 9.

Officers found the victim suffering from injuries that appeared to be caused by a sharp weapon. A second individual in the residence was taken into custody, and authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

Norfolk Resident Charged with Assault

A resident from Norfolk County, aged 26, faces charges following an investigation into intimate partner violence.

The Norfolk County OPP responded to a call at around 11:50 p. m. on Sunday, June 7, regarding an incident between two individuals that led to one assaulting the other. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The accused has been charged with spousal assault and is scheduled to appear in court in Simcoe at a later date.

Four Drivers Charged with Impaired Driving

A total of four drivers have been charged due to separate incidents involving suspected impaired driving.</P

The Norfolk County OPP pulled over a vehicle near Norfolk Street North and Queensway East in Simcoe just after 7 p. m. on Saturday, June 6.</P

A man from St. Catharines, age 26, was arrested and charged with operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs as well as failure or refusal to comply with demand.</P

LATER ON THE SAME DAY AT ABOUT 7:30 P. M., OFFICERS STOPPED A VEHICLE SPEEDING ON HILLCREST ROAD IN SIMCOE.
A man aged 39 from Oxford County failed a roadside sobriety test and was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus) along with having liquor in an open container in an unauthorized location.<P

LATER THAT EVENING AT APPROXIMATELY 11:12 P. M., POLICE RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT A SUSPECTED IMPAIRED DRIVER NEAR ERIE BOULEVARD AND HASTINGS DRIVE IN LONG POINT.
The officers located the vehicle close to Langton and took the driver into custody after speaking with her.<P

A woman from Aylmer aged 31 has been charged for failing or refusing to comply with demand.<P

Soon after around 2 a. m. on Sunday, June 7,
NORFOLK COUNTY OPP OFFICERS WERE RESPONDING TO A CALL ABOUT DISTURBANCE ON WINDHAM ROAD 13 IN SIMCOE WHEN THEY CAME ACROSS A VEHICLE PARKED ON THIRTEENTH STREET WEST NEAR THE DISTURBANCE LOCATION.
The officers talked to the driver who reportedly failed a roadside sobriety test.<P

An eighteen-year-old man from Haldimand County now faces charges including operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus); novice driver – B. A. C. above zero; young driver – B. A. C. above zero; and Class G1 licence holder – unaccompanied by qualified driver.<P
