The National Hockey League has picked Tillsonburg to host the NHL Fan Arena on August 10th, 11th, and 12th.
TILLSONBURG – Hockey enthusiasts from all around Oxford County and beyond are set to flock to Tillsonburg when the NHL Fan Arena rolls into town.
This interactive fan experience has been traveling across North America this year, celebrating a century of the National Hockey League.
Kinsmen Club President Brad Martin shared with Heart FM that the NHL specifically chose Tillsonburg to host this traveling festival.
“For Southwestern Ontario it’s a great little hub in between Detroit, Toronto, and Buffalo where the other NHL cities are. They chose Tillsonburg to be the centre of that and the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club was more than excited to host this wonderful event.”
Martin also mentioned some fun activities planned at the Tillsonburg Community Centre for August 10th, 11th, and 12th.
“They’re bringing a virtual Zamboni experience which kids can enjoy; it has a cool mist, a rumbling seat, and they race around on virtual ice. They’re also bringing a touring truck showcasing the history of how the game has evolved through sticks, equipment, and players.”
The iconic Stanley Cup will be there too, along with bouncy castles and face painting courtesy of the Tillsonburg Kinsmen Club.
This three-day event is free to attend, and you can find more information on the Tillsonburg Fan Arena website.
