THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A 38-year-old man from Scarborough is dealing with severe drug trafficking charges underneath each the Legal Code of Canada and the Managed Medicine and Substances Act (CDSA) following a significant investigation into the motion of illicit medication into Thunder Bay and surrounding First Nation communities.

The arrest is the results of a months-long, intelligence-led investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)’s Provincial Weapons and Gangs Enforcement Crew (PGNG), with assist from the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) and Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS).

The multi-agency investigation targeted on disrupting organized drug trafficking linked to felony avenue gangs working between the Larger Toronto Space (GTA) and Northwestern Ontario.

Arrest and Drug Seizure

On Monday, December 8, 2025, officers from PGNG and the OPP Emergency Response Crew arrested a suspect close to Freeway 11/17 and Dawson Highway in Thunder Bay.

As a part of the operation, police seized a big amount of illicit medication and drug trafficking-related objects, together with:

230 grams of suspected fentanyl

680 grams of suspected cocaine

200 grams of suspected crack cocaine

Two cell telephones
