By Friday evening, two new fires were identified in the northwest region:
Fort Frances 62 (FOR062) is found southeast of Thompson Lake and roughly six kilometres northwest of Lac la Croix. This fire covers 0.1 hectares and is being held. Sioux Lookout 114 (SLK114) is situated near Highway 599, about one kilometre west of Grebe Lake. The fire has burned an area of 0.1 hectares and is now extinguished.
The overall forest fire hazard is mostly low throughout northwestern Ontario, although some areas experience moderate to high hazards.
