THUNDER BAY – A resident from North York and another from Thunder Bay have been charged with drug trafficking offenses following an investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police in the city. According to police, this investigation resulted in the seizure of suspected cocaine, suspected crack cocaine, suspected fentanyl, cash, and items related to trafficking from a location on Cumberland Street South. The allegations have yet to be proven in court.

The OPP-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) started an intelligence-based investigation in April 2026 regarding suspected drug trafficking activities in Thunder Bay. This probe involved members of the Thunder Bay Police Service and was launched after information was received from the OPP Investigation and Enforcement Bureau. On Wednesday, April 22, PGNG investigators, with help from the OPP Community Street Crime Unit, the Thunder Bay Police Service Emergency Task Unit, and the Community Oriented Response Unit of Thunder Bay Police Service, carried out a search warrant on Cumberland Street South. Police reported seizing:97 grams of suspected cocaine
12 grams of suspected crack cocaine
16 grams of suspected fentanyl
