Wetaskiwin Couple to Appear in Ontario Court for Assault Case

9:40 am Friday, February 13, 2026

A couple from the County of Wetaskiwin who are facing charges in a sexual assault investigation in Ontario will appear in court on March 3, 2026.

The Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) started looking into alleged sexual assaults that occurred between 2020 and 2022 in the Township of Gillies back in August 2025.

This township is located within the Thunder Bay District.

Greg Leiterman, aged 73, and Marilyn, aged 63, who previously lived in Thunder Bay but now reside in the County of Wetaskiwin, have been charged according to a press release.

Greg faces two counts of sexual interference involving a person under 16 years old and two counts of sexual assault on one case file. He also faces three counts of sexual interference and one count of sexual assault on another case file, as reported by Thunder Bay Courthouse services.

Marilyn is charged with three counts of assault related to the first case file and three counts of assault related to the second case file.

According to her Linked In profile, Marilyn lives in Winfield, Alta., and has been a foster parent for “troubled children” with “multiple diagnoses” for over 25 years.

The profile states she works as a freelance educator on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.

The OPP released information regarding the investigation and charges on November 27, 2025. The couple had their initial court appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on December 10, 2025.

No charges have been proven yet in court. A date for entering pleas has not been established.

The OPP encourages anyone with additional information or those who believe they might be victims of similar situations to reach out to the Thunder Bay OPP Detachment or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
