17-Year-Old Dies in Pickup Truck Incident

17-Year-Old Dies in Pickup Truck Incident

A 17-year-old pedestrian has lost their life after being struck by a pickup truck near St. Thomas, according to OPP.

The accident took place around 11:40 a. m. on Monday.

Emergency services were dispatched to John Wise Line between Sunset and Rieger roads in Elgin County. The teenager, who lived in Elgin County, was transported to the hospital where they were pronounced dead. The pickup truck driver, a 57-year-old from Elgin County, did not sustain any injuries.

Authorities have not indicated whether charges will be filed.
