A still from a video shows a pickup truck on fire on the Burlington Skyway bridge on Jan. 2, 2026 (@401_da_sarpanch/X).

Three lanes heading towards Niagara on the Burlington Skyway bridge have reopened after a pickup truck went up in flames Friday afternoon.

An Ontario Provincial Police spokesperson mentioned that the fire was reported around 1:30 p. m.

Footage shared on X captures the pickup truck ablaze on the shoulder of the bridge, with someone standing close by while traffic comes to a halt.

According to OPP, it’s unclear if there were any injuries.

The lanes remained closed for nearly two hours as crews worked to clear the area, but they are now open again.

No information is available yet regarding what caused the fire in the vehicle.
