Police in St. Thomas have arrested a third suspect in connection with the homicide and arson investigation involving the shooting of 40-year-old Victoria Dill at a residence in the city last summer, they announced on Wednesday.

Jason Daniel, 50, faces charges of manslaughter and arson with disregard for human life, bringing the total number of arrests in this case to three.

While police did not reveal Daniel’s name when announcing his arrest on Wednesday, they have since disclosed his identity.

“STPS investigators have intentions of holding accountable every person responsible for this heinous crime,” said police in a news release.

The investigation began when first responders discovered Dill, a woman from St. Thomas, suffering from a critical gunshot wound at the same location as an active house fire on Hiawatha Street, according to previous police statements. Dill later passed away at the hospital.

This incident took place early on July 3, 2024.

A month after Dill’s death, law enforcement apprehended Nathan Deleemans, 30, who was charged with second-degree murder along with an arson-related charge, and 20-year-old Keegan Harvey for arson with disregard for human life and being an accessory after the fact to murder.

Left to right, Daniel, Deleemans, and Harvey are all suspects police say are connected to the killing of Victoria Dill last summer. (St. Thomas Police)

After his arrest, officers seized items from Daniel that included over 45 grams of fentanyl and more than three grams of methamphetamine valued at approximately $3,600 on the street market, leading to an additional drug trafficking charge against him.

Daniel is currently being held in police custody while awaiting a court appearance.
