Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have filed more charges against a man who reportedly threw rocks at moving vehicles in St. Catharines.
According to officers, the alleged event occurred on Sept. 18, 2026, near Highway 406 and Glendale Avenue.
This past Tuesday, Ammar Al-Zubaidi, 49, from St. Catharines was taken into custody and charged with mischief endangering life and violating his recognizance.
Al-Zubaidi is still in custody and is set to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Catharines on Wednesday.
The Niagara OPP reported that between June and August 2025, they received several complaints about rocks being intentionally thrown at vehicles traveling along the road or from overpasses.

Investigators say incidents were reported in these locations:
Highway 406 between Westchester and Fourth avenues, St. Catharines QEW near Mountain Road, Niagara Falls Highway 58 near Pine Street, Thorold
Al-Zubaidi had been arrested earlier in September 2025 on nine counts of mischief endangering life.
