MIDHURST – Warden Basil Clarke has officially declared June 2026 as Pride Month in the County of Simcoe. County Council met at the Administration Centre in Midhurst to raise the Pride flag, kicking off Pride Month and showcasing the County’s dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming community for everyone. Pride Month is celebrated across Canada as a time to honor the contributions, resilience, and diversity of 2SLGBTQQIA+ individuals while recognizing that there’s still work to be done to improve equity and inclusion. “Pride Month is a reminder of the strength that comes from embracing and celebrating our differences,” said Warden Basil Clarke. “In Simcoe County, we are committed to building communities where everyone feels seen, valued, and safe to be themselves. We demonstrate this commitment by flying the Pride flag throughout the month of June and by supporting initiatives that advance inclusion and strengthen our communities.” Residents are encouraged to join in on Pride Month by learning, reflecting, and taking part in actions that promote a more inclusive Simcoe County for all. This includes participating in Pride-related events and activities organized within their local municipalities. *************************
