Authorities have announced that there will be a larger police presence in Huron-Kinloss as they search for a man linked to an early morning event.

Officers from the South Bruce Detachment of the OPP expressed they are “concerned for the safety of this individual” after responding to reports of a man in distress at a home on Amberley Beach Road just before 3 a. m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Law enforcement has established a containment area with assistance from the OPP Aviation Unit, Canine Unit, and Emergency Response Team, noting that residents “will notice an increased police presence in the area.”

Officials are urging the community to stay alert and report any suspicious behavior.

The investigation is still ongoing.
