Two individuals have been taken into custody and charged after a police search in Brockton resulted in the seizure of two firearms.
According to South Bruce OPP, an investigation prompted officers to carry out a search warrant at a location on Bruce Road 15 on June 25. During this operation, they confiscated two firearms along with five imitation guns. A quantity of ammunition was also recovered.
A 43-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman, both from Brockton, were arrested at the scene. They each face charges of two counts for careless storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The older suspect has also been charged with two counts for failing to comply with a release order. They are currently being held for a bail hearing and have been remanded into custody with a scheduled court date for July 22 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
The younger suspect has since been released and is set to appear in court on August 5 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton.
