Authorities report that a second individual has died following an arson incident in Richmond Hill, Ontario, which had already resulted in the tragic death of an 11-year-old girl.
At about 3:15 a. m. on September 1, emergency responders were called to a house fire on Skywood Drive, located south of Bathurst Street and King Road.
According to police, five people were taken to the hospital; three of them were initially deemed to have life-threatening injuries, but later all were categorized as being in critical condition.

Her passing is now under investigation as a homicide. “York Regional Police are investigating the incident, and at this time based on evidence collected during the course of the investigation, the fire is believed to be an arson,” the force said in a statement.
