A five-year-old child lost their life over the weekend after an all-terrain vehicle crash in Renfrew County, according to Ontario Provincial Police.
Emergency services responded to a call at a private property in Brudenell, Lyndoch, and Raglan township on Saturday morning, OPP reported on Monday.
When responders arrived, they found the child, who was wearing a helmet, had been riding a tracked ATV alone when it collided with a tree.
The child was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and then airlifted to a regional trauma center where they succumbed to their injuries, as stated in the release.
OPP did not provide details about the child’s gender or any additional information in their statement.
