A five-year-old boy has tragically died after an all‑terrain vehicle crashed into a tree on private land in Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township, leading to a multi‑unit investigation by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
The Upper Ottawa Valley OPP reports that the accident occurred just after 11 a. m. on January 10. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a tracked ATV that had collided with a tree.
According to authorities, the child was the only one operating the vehicle and was wearing a helmet during the incident. Initially, he was taken by ambulance to a local hospital before being airlifted to a regional trauma center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
A post‑mortem examination is planned as investigators try to piece together how this collision took place.
