A young man from Ottawa lost his life in a collision involving two vehicles on a rural highway just north of Renfrew.
The accident occurred around 6:39 a. m. on Friday. Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police’s Renfrew detachment were the first responders and found the two vehicles extensively damaged on Highway 17.
The victim, a 19-year-old from Ottawa, was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities are currently reconstructing the incident, leading to a closure of Highway 17 in both directions between Storyland Road and Bruce Street in Horton Township.
