A collaborative investigation has started following what authorities are calling a serious car accident in downtown Port Elgin on Saturday afternoon. The incident took place at the intersection of Gustavus Street and Goderich Street, which is also known as Highway 21. Several vehicles were significantly damaged, and debris was spread across the road as police looked into the scene for several hours. Witnesses mentioned seeing a man flee from the area right after the crash. Authorities have not confirmed if this incident relates to a theft reported in Paisley around the same time as the Port Elgin crash. Saugeen Shores Police and Ontario Provincial Police stated that there is no danger to public safety, and they are continuing their investigation.
