A man has lost his life following a crash in Ontario on Sunday, according to police.
Ontario Provincial Police reported that officers arrived at the scene of a collision on Highway 542 in Central Manitoulin Township around 6:45 p. m.
The accident involved a single vehicle – a pickup truck – and only one occupant.
A 51-year-old man from Port Elgin was declared dead at the scene.
Highway 542 was shut down between Monument and Lakeshore roads after the incident.
Details about what caused the crash are still unclear.
“The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP technical collision investigators and reconstructionist,” officers said.
