A 63-year-old man is facing 22 charges for sexual assault involving two children in Pickering and Toronto.

The Special Victims Unit of Durham Regional Police started looking into the Pickering man after reports surfaced that he had allegedly assaulted two young girls. The suspect, who knows both victims’ families, reportedly visited the children at their homes and is accused of inappropriate touching.

According to police, a thorough investigation found that the victims were sexually assaulted multiple times between November 2025 and July 2026.

In August, Faruk Dewan was found in Ajax and arrested without any issues.

Dewan faces 11 counts of sexual assault and 11 counts of sexual interference with minors under the age of 16.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

The accused offers art lessons from his home in Pickering, and police are concerned there may be more victims.

If anyone has information regarding these incidents, they are encouraged to reach out to D/Cst. Gomez of the Special Victims Unit at 1-888-579-1520 ext. 5391.

Anonymous tips can be submitted to Durham Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or online at www. durhamregionalcrimestoppers. ca, where tipsters may qualify for a cash reward.
