Local police are looking into a death in Perth after someone was discovered with serious injuries at a nearby park.
The Lanark County division of the Ontario Provincial Police reported that officers arrived at Last Duel Park on Sunday, April 12, 2026, around 3:15 p. m.
Authorities say one person was found and transported to a trauma center, where they were pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigators mention that initial reports indicate this incident is isolated, showing no signs of a broader threat to community safety.
Residents can expect to see an ongoing police presence as the investigation continues.
The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch is in charge of the case, collaborating with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service. Various specialized teams, including the Emergency Response Team and Forensic Identification Services, are also providing support.
