Their version is a fresh spin on the track, embracing the group’s indie-pop vibe while adding their own touch to the new wave classic. The cover showcases dreamy, uplifting guitar riffs from guitarist Kylie Miller, who enhances the strong yet whimsical vocals of her sister, Jordan.
“I Ran (So Far Away)” has been making waves on the Modern Rock chart for 11 weeks now, recently climbing from 32 to 31. This marks the group’s second appearance on the chart, joining “Can I Call You In The Morning?” which dropped one spot to No. 9.
This week has been significant for The Beaches. Earlier this week, the band – featuring the Miller sisters along with members Leandra Earl and Eliza Enman-Mc Daniel – received the Global Force award from FACTOR at this year’s Billboard Women in Music ceremony. At their first U. S. award show, Jordan expressed deep appreciation “to be representing Canada on a global stage,” describing it as “not only an honour but a dream come true.”
On the Country chart, Owen Riegling’s “Love Hate Love” makes its way to No. 47.
This is his latest single from Riegling’s second album, In The Feeling, which came out in April. It marks the Mildmay, Ontario native’s first full-length release under his partnership with Universal Music Canada/Big Loud Records that he signed nine months ago.
The energetic track was crafted in Nashville alongside Oscar Charles, Luke Preston and Luke Laird. It carries a modern country vibe while still being rooted in real emotion as Riegling and his co-writers explore the push and pull of complex romantic love.
“We’re just like George and Tammy when they drank too much / Know a little something ’bout love, hate, love,” he sings while referencing country music legends Tammy Wynette and George Jones. With a catchy hook and polished production, it’s clear why this song has struck a chord with country radio fans.
Riegling fondly remembers writing this song last spring: “The day we wrote ‘Love Hate Love’ back in May of 2025, we knew it felt special; I still feel that way,” he shares. “It has an infectious energy that sticks with you. It’s definitely an animated version of my relationship but there is a lot of truth to it.”
This isn’t Riegling’s first time on the charts either; nearly 20 spots higher sits his track “Taillight This Town” at No. 28.
This week also sees Cameron Whitcomb land two entries on the Airplay charts. His self-declared first-ever love song, “You And Me,” appears at No. 56 on Country while his anxiety-driven track “Kingdom of Fear” debuts at No. 35 on Modern Rock.
The contrasting singles are part of Whitcomb’s recent EP titled Deep Water, which debuted at No. 88 on this week’s Billboard Canadian Albums chart. In this latest work, Whitcomb dives deeper into exploring vulnerability while refining his country-rock style.
“Seems like lately I’ve fallen back in love with songwriting. It’s like having sex with your ex,” says the B. C.-based artist. “Something familiar and comfortable but also refreshing about it. It’s been an incredible time getting to put these ideas that’ve been banging around in my head on paper.”
Whitcomb’s presence is felt across various Airplay charts as well; “You And Me” moves up from 33 to 30 on CHR/Top 40 after debuting three weeks ago while one of his earlier tracks called “Quitter” stands strong at No. 15 on AC.
In other news, country singer Sully Burrows reaches No. 44 on All-Format with “Put It On Me,” while Céline Dion’s comeback single “Dansons” makes its entrance onto AC at No. 16.
Topping all formats is Bruno Mars who holds onto No.1 with “I Just Might” across All-Format, AC, CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC charts simultaneously! Meanwhile RAYE’s “Where Is My Husband!” claims second place across those two charts whilst Olivia Dean’s songs “So Easy To Fall In Love” and “Man I Need” rise from third to second in both rankings.
