A tragic accident involving a car and a motorcycle occurred on County Road 43 near County Road 30 in North Glengarry Township, resulting in the death of a 77-year-old man from Cornwall.
Officers from the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD& G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of the collision on Saturday, August 29, 2026, shortly after 3:30 p. m. They discovered that a passenger vehicle had turned left directly into the path of an approaching motorcycle.
The motorcyclist, a 77-year-old man from Cornwall, was taken to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the car suffered minor injuries.
County Road 43 was shut down in both directions between County Road 30 and Dornie Road for several hours before it reopened.
The investigation is still ongoing with assistance from the OPP East Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team.
