One of the individuals found guilty in the murder of Hells Angels recruit Greg Slewidge has passed away while incarcerated, according to Correctional Service Canada (CSC).

Michael Clairoux, 52, had been serving a life sentence for just over a year when he died on Friday at Millhaven Institution, a maximum-security prison located near Kingston, Ont. A news release from CSC did not reveal details surrounding his death.

In January 2025, a jury in Perth, Ont., convicted Clairoux and Lee Marazzo for plotting and executing the killing of Slewidge, who was 39 at the time of his death more than five years ago at a legal marijuana farm.

Prosecutors claimed that both men were hired by a Hells Angels support club to kill Slewidge, whose father was formerly an Ontario Provincial Police officer and regularly sang anthems for the Ottawa Senators.

It was also claimed that Clairoux himself was affiliated with Hells Angels.

The Ontario Court of Appeal noted that Clairoux filed an appeal against his conviction just one week after being sentenced, but no ruling had been issued before his passing.

Clairoux’s family has been informed, and CSC will investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, as stated in a news release on Monday.
