Update: Three individuals were hurt in a house fire that started early Tuesday morning.

Durham Regional Police reported that the three people were taken to a local hospital and are in stable condition. At first, Oshawa Fire indicated that only one person had been injured.

As of 8 a. m., Bloor Street East was shut down in both directions from Albert Street to the Highway 401 ramp. However, the ramp remains open.

Original story follows.

One person sustained injuries in a house fire in Oshawa early Tuesday morning.

Just after 4 a. m., Oshawa Fire stated that crews were responding to a structure fire in the vicinity of Bloor Street East and Simcoe Street South.

A resident was rescued from the home and is currently receiving care from Durham Paramedics, according to Oshawa Fire.

No additional information has been provided regarding the condition of the resident.

Images from the scene depict flames erupting from a residence near the Tim Hortons located on Bloor Street.

Bloor Street was closed between Ritson off-ramp and Simcoe Street, as noted in a social media post.

Oshawa Fire requested that people steer clear of the area.

One resident was removed from this address and is in the care of @Durham Paramedic. Defensive operations have commenced. Crews remain on scene.
