The search is currently underway near Kawartha Lakes for a missing 73-year-old pilot after his damaged plane was found late last night. John Musselman reports.

The search for the missing aircraft has come to a close after crews discovered debris near Queen Elizabeth II Provincial Park in Ontario.

While some parts of the plane have been located, the fate of the missing 73-year-old pilot, identified by his family as David Douglas, is still unknown.

According to Durham Regional police, he took off from Oshawa Airport around 8:30 a. m. on Friday and was thought to be flying north toward Kawartha Lakes.

Douglas was piloting a small blue and yellow, single-seat, home-built aircraft with “FOFZ” marked on its tail.
