Two kids and a woman have been hospitalized after being hit by a driver in Barrie, Ont., on Friday morning, according to police.
Officers arrived at the scene after receiving calls about two children and a woman who were struck by a car while crossing Mapleview Drive W. around 7 a. m. Friday, as stated in an email from Barrie police to .
A five-year-old boy and an adult woman were flown to a trauma center in Toronto via air ambulance, while a nine-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital.
The five-year-old child is at Sick Kids with critical injuries, said Ornge spokesperson Joshua Mc Namara.
Authorities reported that the female driver stayed at the scene. Investigators are currently looking into what caused the accident, they added.
Roads on Mapleview Drive W. between Garibaldi Drive and Nakiska Court have reopened, police confirmed.
