A 23-year-old man has lost his life after what police described as a “physical altercation” outside a Tim Hortons in Oshawa, Ont.
Officers arrived at the scene following a report of an armed individual on Saturday around 8:10 p. m. near Simcoe Street North and Winchester Road East.
Two groups of men were involved in a physical confrontation outside the Tim Hortons located at 2700 Simcoe St. N., according to police. During this fight, the victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

As per Durham Regional Police Service, the suspect along with several other individuals fled on foot heading south and east from the Tim Hortons. Despite an extensive search effort, authorities say they couldn’t find the suspects. Consequently, there will be an increased police presence in the area while investigations continue. The homicide unit has taken over the investigation and is urging anyone who was in the area between 7:30 p. m. and 9 p. m., who saw anything or may have cell phone, dash-cam or surveillance footage or any other information to reach out to Det.
