Highway 401 Westbound Closed Due to Accident and Diesel Spill

Highway 401 Westbound Closed Due to Accident and Diesel Spill

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers report that all westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Courtice Road in Oshawa have been shut down following a multi-vehicle accident that caused a diesel spill.

The incident, which involved three vehicles, occurred at Harmony Road around 9:12 a. m.

One person has been taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

A commercial truck was among the vehicles involved and it spilled diesel across all lanes.

The highway was closed at Courtice Road for cleanup and reopened just before 2 p. m.
