2 youths stabbed in Oshawa after reports of large fight: Durham police

Two highschool college students have been stabbed throughout their lunch break in Oshawa Thursday, prompting a “maintain and safe” at an area college for a part of the afternoon, police say.

Round 12:30 p.m., officers responded to experiences of “a big combat and stabbing” within the space of Concord Highway N. and Coldstream Drive, Durham Regional Police police stated in an electronic mail.

Two boys, aged 14 and 16, have been discovered affected by stab wounds, police stated. Each have been transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with critical accidents.

Police have stated the 2 victims have been high-school college students at Maxwell Heights Secondary College, however the stabbing occurred off college property.

The varsity was below a “maintain and safe” for 45 minutes following the stabbings, police stated.

Police stated two suspects fled the world earlier than officers arrived. There was a big police presence within the space as officers looked for them.

Officers might be on-scene once more Friday to “help employees and college students,” police stated in a information launch Thursday night.

In a press release despatched to oldsters and obtained by CBC Toronto, Maxwell Heights Secondary College’s principal Saamah Jadoon stated throughout a “maintain and safe,” all exterior doorways are locked to make sure college students stay inside and college students are below grownup supervision.

“The protection and safety of our college students and employees is all the time, and can stay, our prime precedence,” the principal stated.

Jadoon added there might be further help on web site Friday, as college students could really feel “unsettled” following the stabbings.

“Please know that our faculty, college board, and employees are taking this situation very significantly and might be working collectively to help pupil security and well-being,” Jadoon stated.

Durham police are looking for two male suspects round 15 to 16 years previous. One suspect was final seen carrying a black monitor swimsuit, whereas the opposite was final seen carrying a dark-coloured monitor swimsuit, police say.
