We are heartbroken to share the sudden and unexpected loss of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Vilma Lillian Gordon, who was 96 years old. She passed away peacefully at her home in Southbridge Roseview on Friday, June 26, 2026.

Vilma is survived by her sons Tom, Benny (Donna), and daughter Catherine. Her grandchildren Stacey, Dayna, Carley, and Mitchell will also miss her dearly. She leaves behind her great-granddaughter Madalyn.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob (Robert), daughter-in-law Lynn, and great-grandson Tito.

Vilma grew up in Copper Cliff (Sudbury) and worked as a teacher in Nipigon and Thunder Bay. After retiring, she ran the Kestitupa Cafeteria with her husband Bob for many years.

She loved being the life of the party at social events. Her beautiful singing voice brought joy to many people, especially during karaoke nights with the residents and staff of Roseview. Scrapbooking was one of her favorite hobbies; she created lovely albums for many family members. Known as Flash Gordon, she had countless photos from her travels, family gatherings, and social events.

A devoted Christian, we find comfort knowing she is now safe in the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ.

The family wishes to express gratitude to all the staff at Southbridge Roseview Primrose for treating her like family. We can’t thank you enough.

Mom, our family’s matriarch will be deeply missed but will always hold a special place in our hearts. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life and private internment will happen at a later date.

Donations can be made to Caring Hearts Cat Rescue and Sanctuary www. caringheartscatrescue. ca or any charity of your choice.

Condolences may be left through www. nwfainc. com
