Vickie Kay Canada, 58, from Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025, at Villages of Jackson Creek. She was surrounded by her loving family after a long and brave battle with renal failure.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Judy Canada and John R. Canada, along with her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and close friends.

Vickie leaves behind her lifelong partner, Jeff Barker; her brother, John D. Canada and his wife Tanya; her sister, Pamela Clintsman and her husband Jeremy; her niece Sierra Canada; nephews Kyle and Cole Canada as well as Jeremy Clintsman Jr. and his wife Kaitlyn; great-nephews Grayson, Gunner, and Karson Canada; and a great-niece named Galilee Clintsman.

Even though Vickie never had kids of her own, she loved them deeply. She spent much of her life caring for other people’s children through a long career in childcare at various daycare centers.

Vickie truly enjoyed life. She liked to visit the casino whenever she got the chance and loved scary movies-especially the Alien series which was her favorite above all others. Most importantly, she cherished her dogs Bindi Lou and Cash who were like children to her and whom she leaves behind.

In line with Vickie’s wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial services. A private family gathering will take place at a later date as per her request.

The many people who knew and loved Vickie will miss her greatly.
