In Loving Memory of
Therese Alice Marie (Terri) Favreau (nee Changnon)
We are deeply saddened to share that Terri passed away on June 12, 2026, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family.
Therese was born on June 11, 1945, in Pine Falls, Manitoba to the late Marguerite & Leo Chagnon of Keewatin, Kenora, Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Donald Favreau. They shared 41 years of marriage and raised three wonderful children together: Son Leo (Maureen), grandchildren Nicole and Adam / (Suzanne), grandchildren Brenda (great granddaughters Pheonix, Tiana and Kiara), Nicole, Leo, Angel (Anthony) (great grandsons Cory and Carter); Son Dale (Monique), grandchildren Lux & Jarrid; Daughter Linda Baccari (Richie), granddaughter Amanda (great granddaughters Mylie and June), grandson Ryan (Shayla), great grandchildren Sean & Rachel and grandchildren Steven and Ashley.
Together with her husband Donald, sister Roberta Derochie, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Therese played a vital role in establishing the Dew Drop Inn in Thunder Bay in 1981. For over two decades she directed the soup kitchen. After more than 20 years devoted to helping those in need within her community, she retired in 2013 having fed millions throughout her years of service.
As a faithful Catholic, her beliefs meant everything to her; she attended mass regularly and later watched services on television.
Her life centered around family. We will miss her wisdom, strength, quiet sense of humor and love for complex puzzles.
A Funeral Mass celebrating Therese’s life will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, June 26, 2026 at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church located at 294 Red River Road in Thunder Bay, Ontario. A private interment will follow immediately at St. Andrew’s Cemetery within Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum.
