Theresa Joyce Griebler, aged 89, passed away quietly on July 5, 2026, with her family by her side. She leaves behind a legacy filled with faith, hard work, and steadfast love for those around her.

Born on March 5, 1937, in Bangor, Maine, to Pasquale and Lily (Bilson) Caruso, Theresa was part of a large family that instilled in her the resilience and strong work ethic that defined her life.

She honorably served as a Medical Technician in the United States Air Force, dedicating herself to helping others. Later on, she and Jim settled down in Little Canada, Minnesota, where they spent over 40 wonderful years together. She was a dedicated member of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Theresa had a strong belief in hard work and doing things right. She was known for being straightforward-people always knew where they stood with her-but there was kindness behind her honesty. She had an incredible knack for remembering names which made friends and neighbors feel special and acknowledged.

She also knew how to have fun. Theresa loved getting together with friends for card games and was an active member of a long-standing card club at St. John’s. An avid bingo player, she looked forward to casino trips. Proudly left-handed, she’d often highlight this unique trait with a grin. A devoted Minnesota sports fan, she especially enjoyed basketball and kept up with the Twins, Lynx, Timberwolves, and Vikings. Family members and friends will fondly recall Theresa’s playful nature during holidays; every Halloween she dressed up as a witch while at Christmas she became one of everyone’s favorite elves-she continued this tradition until last Christmas and Halloween.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband James John Griebler; her parents Pasquale and Lillie Caruso; along with all eleven siblings: Frank, Mary, Elizabeth, Helen, Marguerite, Bill, Lillie, Jeannette, Richard, Marlene, and Jack.

Theresa is survived by her children Mary Jane (Jim) Horner; John (Debbie) Griebler; Tom (Anne) Griebler; six adored grandchildren Drew; Jimmy; Austin; Abbey; Ally; Anthony; eight dear great-grandchildren; plus many nieces and nephews along with extended family members and close friends.

People will remember Theresa for her unwavering dedication to work ethic honesty faithfulness alongside deep love for family and friends. She strongly believed in working hard speaking truthfully treating people like they truly mattered. Her example of strength loyalty kindness compassion will continue through those whose lives she touched. Although she’ll be greatly missed the memories created along with the lessons taught will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew loved her.

A visitation is scheduled for Thursday August 13 2026 from 3pm – 7pm at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center located at 4600 Greenhaven Drive White Bear MN. A Mass of Christian Burial will occur on Friday August 14th 2026 at 11am at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church situated at 380 Little Canada Rd E Little Canada MN-with visitation starting one hour prior.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed toward St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
