Rebecca ‘Becky’ Chaput

Becky passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family, on July 19, 2026, at the age of 86 years. She was the wife of the late Dorice Chaput and is survived by her beloved children Dianne and Deacon Adrien (Bernadette). She was predeceased by her son Cyrille. Becky was a loving Mamère/Grandma to Curtis and Angela Lowe (Steve Mc Dermott), Phillippe, Yvonne, Claude, Jacques Chaput, and Mélanie Chaput (Edgar Esparza). She also held a special place as Grand-mamère/G. G. to Qwynn and Falon, Tristan and Théodore. Becky was a dear sister to Patsy Dion (late Harry Nielsen) and Cecile Brazeau (late Raymond). A long-time member of the Cathedral Catholic Women’s League, she contributed greatly to her community. The family would like to express their gratitude to Mom’s at-home caregivers: Barbara Dedo, Lianne Patterson, Sharon Delaurier, Shirley Boucher, and Kelsey Graveline for their kind care. They would also like to thank the PSWs & nurses from Access Health Care Services for their unwavering support as well as Jeannie Storie from Ontario Health & Home for all her help. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Geena Joseph and Dr. Mandie Bzdell for their compassionate care throughout this time. We are especially grateful to Dr. Mandie Bzdell for her ongoing visits at home. The visits and prayers from Bishop Michael Brehl and Father Mitch Beachey were truly cherished.

Friends are welcome to come share memories of Becky with her family during visitation at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, located at 296 Isabella Street in Pembroke on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 2-4 pm and again from 6-8 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Columbkille’s Cathedral in Pembroke on Thursday, July 23, 2026, starting at 10:30 am followed by interment at St. Columba’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society, St. Joseph Food Bank, The Grind-Pembroke, First Step Options or Renfrew County Right to Life in memory of Becky if desired.
