Loving Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother
At 84 years old, Paul Sprosty of Little Canada passed away peacefully at home on January 23, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lura Lea Sprosty; parents, Lawrence and Rose Sprosty; and sisters, Dorothy and Laurette Sprosty.
Paul is survived by his daughter Marsha Sprosty; sons Lonnie (Alicia) Sprosty, Chris Sprosty, and Brian Sprosty; grandchildren Rob (Jordan) Pasqualini, Mikaela (Deiver) Vargas, Noah (Katelyn) Sprosty, Jeremy Heikke; great-grandchildren Elliana, Kylian, Luca, Camila, and Matteo; brothers David (Karen) Sprosty, Ken Sprosty, and Pat (Barb) Sprosty; caregivers/close friends Evelyn Ohenhen and Victoria Nosun; and his dog Cookie “the little guy”.
Paul worked as a lumberjack in Ely before spending many years at Univac and Roto Rooter. Most of his career was with Slawik Properties. Alongside his full-time work commitments, he owned and managed various residential and commercial properties. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix! He even built the house in Little Canada for Lura himself.
In his spare time, Paul loved fishing and camping at Voyager Village. He enjoyed trips to the Grand Ole Opry for classic country music concerts as well as visiting national parks. Every Sunday included church services at his Catholic parish. In Vegas at Sam’s Town he delighted in playing craps. His happiest moments were dancing with Lura to live classic country tunes.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 AM on Tuesday February 3 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located at 380 E. Little Canada Road in Little Canada. Visitation is set for 10-11 AM that same day at the church. Interment will occur later at St. John’s Cemetery.
