Loving Dad, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Brother

Age 84, from Little Canada, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on January 23, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Lura Lea Sprosty; parents, Lawrence and Rose Sprosty; and sisters, Dorothy and Laurette Sprosty.

He is survived by daughter Marsha Sprosty; sons Lonnie (Alicia) Sprosty, Chris Sprosty, and Brian Sprosty; grandchildren Rob (Jordan) Pasqualini, Mikaela (Deiver) Vargas, Noah (Katelyn) Sprosty, Jeremy Heikke; great-grandchildren Elliana, Kylian, Luca, Camila, and Matteo; brothers David (Karen) Sprosty, Ken Sprosty, and Pat (Barb) Sprosty; caregivers/close friends Evelyn Ohenhen and Victoria Nosun; and his dog Cookie “the little guy”.

Paul worked as a lumberjack in Ely and also spent time at Univac and Roto Rooter. Most of his career was dedicated to Slawik Properties. Alongside his full-time job he owned several residential and commercial properties. He had a knack for fixing things! He even built the house in Little Canada for Lura himself.

He loved fishing and camping at Voyager Village. Trips to the Grand Ole Opry for classic country music were special to him too. National parks were favorites along with attending Catholic church every Sunday. Paul enjoyed playing craps in Vegas at Sam’s Town. His happiest moments were dancing with Lura to live classic country music.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 3 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church located at 380 E. Little Canada Road in Little Canada. Visitation will take place from 10-11 AM on Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow at St. John’s Cemetery on a later date.
