We are deeply saddened to share the news of Robert Joseph Mc Intosh’s passing on March 22, 2026, at the age of 79. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy filled with love, laughter, and many happy memories. Born on July 16, 1946, in the small village of Martintown, Robert was the cherished son of the late Anthony and Mary Ellen (nee Mc Clave).
Robert’s life was rich with stories that were full of love and joy. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Leslie, William, and John (Betty), along with his beloved mother-in-law, Cleta Holland, and brother-in-law, Richard Holland. He held their memories dear.
He is survived by his loving wife Valerie (nee Holland), who stood by him for 52 years after they married on March 16, 1974. Robert took great pride in being a father to his daughters Stacey (John) and Karen (Jim), who brought him immense joy. He absolutely adored his grandchildren Addison, Scott, Ashley, and Jack; each one lit up his world.
His siblings Helen, Heather (Art), Archie (Gay), Stephen, Marion, and Stuart (Karlyn), along with numerous nieces and nephews also had a special place in his heart. The bonds he shared with family showed how much he loved those close to him.
Robert had many interests and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. Whether it was playing golf or honing his billiards skills or spending winters in Florida as a snowbird with friends at Lake Fairways-he truly valued those moments. A passionate fan of the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, he cheered for them just as enthusiastically as he followed the stock market.
As a natural storyteller with a lively spirit and sharp sense of humor that could brighten any gathering; Robert’s conversations were always entertaining. More than anything else though, he found his greatest happiness surrounded by his beloved grandchildren whom he loved immensely.
To honor Robert’s memory, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to the Windsor Cancer Centre-a cause very meaningful to them. They also extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cervi and the Oncology staff for their incredible support over the years as well as Nurse Cathy (Paramed) for her exceptional care during Robert’s final days.
A visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor ON) on March 27, 2026 from 11 am until the Funeral Service starts at noon. As per his wishes cremation will follow afterward. Arrangements have been entrusted to Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location.
