SAAD, Renée Anara
On July 9th, 2026, we lost a truly remarkable woman who left a lasting impression on her family and many students during her time as a French Immersion teacher with the Windsor Essex Catholic District school board. Renée was married to George Saad, who cherished her deeply for over 50 years, and she was the devoted mother of Alan (Kim) and Christine (Greg). She frequently expressed how proud she was of her children, and words can’t capture how proud they are of all that she achieved in life. She absolutely adored her two grandchildren, Ava and Maia.
Anyone fortunate enough to be invited to Renée’s home for dinner enjoyed a wonderful feast complete with delicious desserts. She had a genuine passion for entertaining and created countless special moments for her loved ones. As an exceptional French Immersion teacher, she concluded an incredible career as the department head of modern languages at St Joseph High School. She took immense pride in her work as a teacher and made a significant impact on numerous students.
Renée’s love for her family was profound, and it’s hard to express just how much they love and miss her in return. Her children Alan and Christine fondly recall how magical she made every Christmas since she adored the holiday season. She shared a close bond with her sisters Eva, Theresa, and Maggie; they enjoyed joking around together while discussing current events. Passionate about her beliefs, Renée had great empathy for those in need which is what made her such an extraordinary person that everyone who knew her will always remember fondly. Renée was also a proud sister-in-law and aunt to many who loved her dearly. A heartfelt thank you goes out to her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Challita and Mansoura for their unwavering support during difficult times. The family deeply appreciates everyone who has reached out during this challenging period.
Visitation will take place on Monday, July 13th at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Location from 2:00 to 4:00 p. m. and again from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. Family and friends are welcome to join at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026 for visitation starting at 10:00 a. m., leading up to the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a. m. in the chapel. Cremation will follow afterward. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Downtown Mission.
