A man from Ontario has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after being found guilty in the U. S. for leading a drug-trafficking operation that crossed into Canada.
Guramrit Sidhu, who hails from Brampton, Ont., pleaded guilty earlier this year to heading a drug ring from September 2020 to February 2023.

A California court revealed that over 500 kilograms of methamphetamine and almost 350 kilograms of cocaine were smuggled from the U. S. into Canada between September and October 2022. The U. S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California reported that these drug shipments had an estimated value of up to US$17 million.
