Marie “Paulette” Nadeau, age 78, of Hammonds Plains, NS, peacefully passed away on Friday June 12, 2026, at home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 19, 1948 in Bathurst, NB, she was the daughter of the late Paul Eugene Boudreau and Elizabeth (Betty) Marie Boudreau. Paulette grew up in Saint John, NB and after marrying Romeo, they moved to Nova Scotia where they spent most of their married life. Romeo’s job with Michelin took them to many places: France, Pictou County, Bridgewater, the Annapolis Valley and Fort Wayne, Indiana. With each move Paulette made sure that the new place felt like home and welcomed friends and family.
After returning to Nova Scotia for retirement, they decided being snowbirds suited them well and purchased a condo in Fort Myers, Florida where they enjoyed escaping from the NS winters for 15 years. Over time Paulette dedicated her time volunteering at the Child Development Centre in Westville and taught French at Pentz elementary school. She loved gardening, playing cards, enjoying lobster feasts and sharing good lunches with her lunch buddies after shopping trips. Paulette will be remembered most for her unwavering love for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Romeo; her daughter Tracey Mac Isaac (Glen), along with her beloved grandchildren Keegan Bish, Callum Bish and step-grandchildren Ella and Lilah Mac Isaac. She also leaves behind brother-in-law Robert Landry (Belinda), nephew Joshua, niece Justine and many special friends who cared for her deeply.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberley Ann. Family and friends are invited to attend services celebrating her life and faith. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday June 22nd at Holy Name Catholic Church at 11:00am with Father Peter Mac Donald presiding; Interment will immediately follow at Holy Name Cemetery located at 1659 Mac Kay St., Westville; a reception will follow at Holy Name church hall at 1664 North Main St., Westville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in her honor to VON at https://von. ca/en/donation-form.
