Kireta -Ivan

With great love and sadness, we share the news of Ivan Kireta’s passing at the age of 83. He was born on July 21, 1942, in Hrvatsko Selo, Croatia, and peacefully left this world on December 30, 2025, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Ivan was the son of the late Josip and Eva Kireta and grew up in Croatia surrounded by family traditions. He is predeceased by his dear sisters Jana and Eva and his brother Franjo, who will always be remembered in his heart.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife Slavka Kireta; together they spent 60 years building a life full of love and resilience. They raised two sons-Zlatko Kireta (Joanne) and Josip Kireta-who will carry his lessons with them forever.

As a grandfather, he found immense happiness and leaves behind precious memories for his grandchildren: Caitlyn (Brock), Zachary (Kaitlyn), Oliva (Ash), and Calvin (Mia) Kireta. His values of love and kindness will continue through them.

Ivan’s life was marked by hard work and dedication to family. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember his warmth, humor, and strong character that inspired everyone around him.

He will be deeply missed but always loved.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) located at 1700 Tecumseh Rd E (519)253-7234 on Sunday January 4, 2026 from 2 to 5pm and again from 7 to 9pm. There will be prayers Sunday at 7pm followed by K of C prayers.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday January 5, 2026 at 9:15am starting from the funeral home before proceeding to St. Francis of Assisi (Croatian) Church for a mass at 10am; interment will follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens.

Family members and friends are welcome to join us in celebrating his wonderful life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Francis of Assisi building fund in memory of Ivan.

Online condolences along with shared memories can be expressed with his family at www. windsorchapel. com
