With heavy hearts, we share the news of a life well lived. Our dear mother and Nonni Evelyn passed away peacefully at the age of 99. She was predeceased by her loving husband Renaldo (2020), with whom she shared 62 wonderful years. She is survived by her children Maria and Vladio (Giampuzzi), as well as David and Sabrina (Iseppi). She was a proud Nonni to Alexa, Adam, and Sebastien. Her sister Linda Kennedy remains close to her heart. Known affectionately as Zia Ev (Eb) to Mary Catherine Kolody (Ray) and Michael Kennedy (Rachel), she leaves behind grandnieces Amanda, Alicia, and Joselyn. She was predeceased by her father Isidoro Marcocchio (1991), her mother Maria (2006), and her beloved brother Tom Marcocchio (2013).
Evelyn’s life revolved around hard work, high standards, and above all, a deep love for her family. Raising two children and having three grandchildren meant everything to her; she’ll always be remembered as a strong, smart, fun-loving mom and Nonni. With talents in landscaping, sewing, painting, decorating, and finance, Evelyn’s legacy of living well will endure through those she loved.
At nearly 100 years old, she earned the respect of everyone she met. A lifelong learner with amazing conversation skills on all sorts of topics made her unforgettable. We’ll miss her wise advice and incredible memory. Her one-liners were legendary-always bringing insight and humor to every moment.
Evelyn was an enthusiastic sports fan who cheered on her son and three grandchildren for over 50 years. Her cheering started with her son’s baseball games playing for the Windsor South Canadians; it became so popular that she received a large sign saying “Way to go Charlie.” Charlie was simply any player who did something impressive! Blessed with three wonderful grandchildren whom she adored immensely-she never missed their games while cheering the loudest possible or slipping them some money after each game. She made every child feel like a superstar.
Evelyn approached life with grace, pride, determination, and endless enthusiasm for living fully. Everyone who crossed paths with her felt touched by her sound advice, talents, kind words of encouragement, and stories full of wisdom.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr L. Aoun, Dr G. Yousif, Dr N. Veinberg, Dr Meloche; Tracey P. A., Brittany; along with the nurses on the first and third floor at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare for their outstanding care.
