With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our dear father Antonio “Tony” Marro. Tony left us on January 2nd, 2026, after bravely fighting Cancer at the age of 58, surrounded by his family. A dedicated and loving father, he is survived by his cherished sons Dave and Nicholas. He was a beloved son to Linda and the late Costanzo Marro. Tony also leaves behind his sister Mary Williams and is now reunited with his brothers-in-law Garry Gagnier and Barry Williams. He will be missed by his nephew Ryan (Diana), niece Christina (Jacob), as well as many special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His special companion Kelly and numerous friends will also feel his absence deeply.
For 29 years, Tony worked at Chrysler’s Windsor Assembly Plant where he made countless friendships that left a lasting impression on everyone. Known for his great sense of humor, love for cooking (especially BBQ-no matter how cold it was), and kindness toward others, he truly stood out. A car enthusiast at heart, he took pride in owning a 1992 Thunderbird Super Coupe.
A proud native of Windsor, Tony celebrated his Italian roots through cooking traditional meals from his family’s region and enjoying Italian music. An avid history buff, he had a keen interest in Canada’s role in world conflicts over the years. He loved to travel too; having gone on more than 15 cruises to tropical locations throughout his life. Music played an important role in his life; he especially enjoyed ELO and The Eagles and shared this passion as a DJ known as “DJ San Remo” during his younger days.
Many will miss Tony dearly; there’s no doubt that his absence leaves an empty space in all our hearts.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit Team at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare for their support and to St. Elizabeth Health-especially Nurses Kyle and Myja-for their care.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel (3048 Dougall Ave, 519-253-7236) on Monday January 5th, 2026 from 2-5pm and again from 7-9pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning January 6th, 2026 at Sacred Heart Parish (1425 Divine St., Lasalle) from 10am until the Funeral Mass begins at 11am. Cremation will follow.
