We are heartbroken to share that our dear father Antonio “Tony” Marro has passed away. Tony left us on January 2nd, 2026, after bravely fighting Cancer at the age of 58, surrounded by his family. A devoted father, he is survived by his beloved children Dave and Nicholas. He was also a cherished son to Linda and the late Costanzo Marro. Tony’s memory lives on through his loving sister Mary Williams and he is now reunited with his brothers-in-law Garry Gagnier and Barry Williams. He will be missed by his nephew Ryan (Diana), niece Christina (Jacob), and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. His special companion Kelly and countless friends will also feel the void left by Tony.
Tony spent 29 years working at Chrysler’s Windsor Assembly Plant where he made lifelong friends who will always remember him fondly. He had a great sense of humor, loved cooking (especially BBQs-even in winter), and showed genuine compassion for those around him. A car enthusiast at heart, he took particular pride in his 1992 Thunderbird Super Coupe.
A proud Windsor native, Tony celebrated his Italian roots through traditional cooking from his family’s region as well as listening to Italian music. He was a history buff with a keen interest in Canada’s role in world conflicts over time. Travel was one of Tony’s passions; he went on more than 15 cruises throughout his life-mostly to sunny tropical places. Music played a huge part in his life too; he loved ELO and the Eagles, and during his younger days, he enjoyed sharing music as a DJ known as “DJ San Remo.”
Tony will be profoundly missed by many people; there’s no doubt that we all feel an emptiness without him.
The family would like to express gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit Team at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare for their support along with St. Elizabeth Health staff, especially Nurses Kyle and Myja.
Visitation is set for Monday January 5th, 2026 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel (3048 Dougall Ave, 519-253-7236). It will continue on Tuesday January 6th from 10am until the Funeral Mass begins at Sacred Heart Parish (1425 Divine St, Lasalle) at 11am. Cremation will take place afterward.
In memory of Antonio, donations can be made to the WRH – Cancer Centre or Transition to Betterness – Palliative Care.
