We’re saddened to share that Eric Gordon Anderson passed away on May 28, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada on December 13, 1954, he was the son of Gordon and Kathleen ‘Kay’ Anderson.
Eric embraced life and was always looking for his next adventure. Whether it was scuba diving, dirt biking, skydiving, hiking, or any outdoor activity that brought him joy, he lived fully. He valued hard work and took pride in doing things right.
As a young man, Eric served faithfully on a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Columbus, Ohio and West Virginia. His faith in Jesus Christ was strong, and he found happiness serving in various callings within the Church throughout his life as a dedicated member.
Though Eric loved adventures, sharing them with his family brought him the greatest happiness. He constantly planned trips and outings to create lasting memories together.
Eric is survived by Marni, his loving wife and best friend; his children Jennifer (Skyler) Mac Donnell, Cherylin (Bob) Salmon, Jonathan Anderson, and Alexis (Kurtis) Pratt; along with 15 grandchildren; and 3.5 great-grandchildren (Eric would always remember the.5 one).
He is also survived by siblings Don (Ruth Anne) Anderson, Maureen (Tom) Prepchuk, Kathryn (Michael) Crane and foster brother Pete Charlie; plus many other family members and friends who will miss him greatly.
Preceding him in death were his parents, grandparents, and two younger sisters who passed away at birth.
Those who knew Eric will fondly remember his sharp wit and humor, his faithfulness in service to the Church, along with his enthusiasm for life and family. There was never a dull moment when Eric was around.
While we’ll miss him dearly, we find solace in the memories he leaves behind as well as knowing families can be together forever.
A Celebration of Eric’s Life will take place on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at 12:00 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 4105 Forestry Avenue Chapel with Bishop Brad Low officiating. Friends are welcome to meet the family prior to the service from 10:30 to 11:50 a. m. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Eric Gordon Anderson, please visit our floral store.
