NEUMAN, Anita Marie (nee Malloy)

She passed away peacefully at Hospice Peterborough on Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 67.  She was the loving wife of Dana Neuman for 46 years.  A devoted mother to Corey (Carly) and a proud grandmother to Alexa, Blakelee, and Kaia along with her special dog, Oakley.  She was the daughter of Anna Mary and Pat Malloy and the daughter-in-law of Audrey and Walter Neuman. Anita was a dear twin sister to Anne Lavigne (Rick), Tom Malloy (Sue Freeburn), Claudine Crete (Gilles), Patricia Southern (Art), Ellen Rombough (Neil) and sister-in-law to the late Anne Baragar (the late Mac Laren), Terry Neuman (the late Betty), Bill Neuman (Gloria), Judy Sawyer (Ron), David Neuman (Dianne) and Shelley Bierworth (Bob).  Her many nieces and nephews will miss her dearly.  Family gatherings brought her joy, especially outdoors by one of the many lakes where relatives and friends had cottages or homes. In springtime, she looked forward to trips to Myrtle Beach with family and friends for golf and spent summers golfing with another group of buddies. Although winters felt long at times, she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and taking walks outside. Anita volunteered with the St. Alphonsus St. Vincent de-Paul Society where she made wonderful friendships. She retired from the Ontario Government in 2012 after being diagnosed with Breast Cancer but fought bravely for over 14 years.  Her faith, strength, and grace inspired those around her. Friends are invited to join at HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 1:00-4:00 PM.  A Funeral Mass will take place at ST ALPHONSUS LIGOURI ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH located at 1066 Western Ave., Peterborough on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 1:30 PM followed by interment at Highland Park Cemetery. A reception will be held afterward in the Highland Park Funeral Centre. In memory of Anita and in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Peterborough, St. Vincent de-Paul Society or PRHC Cancer Care as appreciated by her family. Online condolences may be expressed at www. highlandparkfuneralcentre. com
